'Singham of Bihar' Shivdeep Waman Lande is SP of Kishanganj.........
Good news for common people residing in Kishanganj district of Bihar as very famous Shivdeep Waman Lande fondly called as ‘Singham of Bihar’ has assumed charge as caretaker Superintendent of Police (SP) a couple of days back. People were found discussing about Shivdeep Lande at the chowk-chaurahas and markets of the district headquarters on Thursday. While the commoners were very happy with the arrival of SP Lande, the corrupted officials and those involved in illegal activities are highly upset with the change of guard.

Although Lande has been appointed as caretaker SP, but he had cleared his intention by raiding the SFC and FCI goodowns in the town within few hours after assuming the charge. On Thursday, while speaking with media SP Lande went heavily against the district administration for the tea garden controversy and revolution of tribals. Lande said that because of district administration’s lackluster approach the chaos has been erupted in the district. Further he added that very soon he will take the step to measure the land of tea gardens and also the government’s land to end the ongoing Tea Garden owner – Tribal impasse. In addition to this, SP Lande has also made it clear that he would take tough step to take control over the ongoing land-mafiaism in the district of Kishanganj.
About Shivdeep Waman Lande / Career
An IPS officer of 2006 Batch, Shivdeep Waman Lande is currently Superintendent of Police (SP) of Araria and also the caretaker SP of Kishanganj. Born at Akola in Maharashtra on August 20, 1976, Waman Lande is an Engineer (BE) from Electrical branch. His father is a farmer in Akola, Maharashtra. Coming from a poor family, he studied on scholarships till he became an IPS officer.

He has gained popularity while serving as SSP of Patna, the capital city of Bihar in the year 2011 for 10 months. During his stay in Patna he has nabbed many criminals, fake cosmetic sellers and medicine mafia. The young and energetic SP became a hero among the young girls of the city as he taught a lesson to eve-teasers and the bad-elements harassing them. An intelligent officer, SP Lande always made sure that media people with cameras were present while he was about to bust a gang in Patna. However, he was transferred from Patna by the government under some pressure.
Interestingly SP Lande was easily available to common people for listening their plea and he had received around 300 messages (SMS) on daily basis on his personal phone in Patna. When he had to leave Patna, people of the city took out candle-light march and protested against the government decision of his transfer. It is said that he received more than 2000 messages on his phone on the day of his transfer.
