Kishanganj’s bad fortune with nature’s call is continuing, the district once again hit by strong thunderstorm on Tuesday (May 1, 2012) evening. Three persons were killed when a tree got uprooted and fell on them at Balwatoli under Bahadurganj police station of Kishanganj Bihar.The deceased were identified as Chamali Begum, Mastan and his nephew. The bodies were and sent to a hospital for postmortem, the sources said.
The thunderstorm followed by heavy rains in the evening wreck havoc among the people of the district. Hundreds of thatched houses fallen and the shades of several houses were towed away by the strong wind. The trees and standing crops of maize and other crops were badly destroyed by the thunderstorm. It should be noted that the district of Kishanganj and many districts in Purnia are witnessing such dangerous thunderstorm at frequent intervals for past couple of years. The last month in April, the thunderstorm of same magnitude cause heavy monetary loss and casualty of lives as well. The common people are horrified after repeated storms followed by incessant rains.
