On 30th December, 2011 the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between the Bihar Government and AMU administration at Kishanganj. Just after coming back from Kishanganj, the former Vice Chancellor of AMU Prof P K Abdul Azis has sent a letter to MHRD on 4th January, 2012 asking for immediate approval and release of Rs. 50 crore for AMU Special Centre in Kishanganj. Since then, the concerned officials in Ministry of Human Resource Development office have not given attention to the file of AMU Special Centre Kishanganj. It is clear the Congress led UPA government is not showing interest in implementing the recommendations of Sachchar Committee especially the proposed centre of Aligarh Muslim University at Kishanganj in Bihar.
The democratic protest is expected to be attended by around 10,000 people including several noted politicians from opposition parties, social activists and celebrities have shown their willingness to join the protest organized for the noble cause. After the protest, the representatives of AMUCC will submit memorandums to Ministry of HRD and Ministry of Finance with following demands:
i) To take immediate action on the pending file of AMU Kishanganj and forward it to President’s Office for getting final approval, so that AMU administration can start session at temporary shelter from this year
ii) To release the Rs. 50 crore fund for AMU Kishanganj in the Union budget of 2012-13 for immediate fencing of the land
