Hurrayyyyy, celebration time for all, the speculations end here! I couldn’t stop myself from sharing this great news with all, although we were not told to give any statement in public. Sorry, Prof Abdul Azis sahab, the matter of AMU Kishanganj is an emotional issue for the people of Bihar and so I couldn’t resist myself from sharing this with all. Pardon me and AMUCC members.

AMU VC, Bihar CM, Deputy CM, P K Shahi and Anjani Kumar
Finally the AMU centre in Kishanganj, Bihar is going to get shape. Tons of thanks to Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof P K Abdul Azis and his team for giving assurance to accept the latest proposal of 224.02 acres contiguous land offered near Chakla Village in the outskirts of Kishanganj district headquarters. A delighted Prof Azis had called Aligarh Muslim University Centre Coordination Committee (AMUCC) team today evening after the long meeting with the Special team looking after the Study centres proposal key among them is Prof Ikram Sahab. Although the Bihar Government’s FAX was not carrying the map of the proposed land, but the Vice Chancellor looked quite convinced and said that he will visit Kishanganj by the end of this month to accept the proposal.

It should be noted, Bihar Government had sent the proposal yesterday through FAX to AMU Vice Chancellor after the Cabinet ministers had given the approval to the new site on November 22, 2011.Just after receiving the copy of proposal the Vice Chancellor had called AMUCC co-ordinator Mohammad Aslam and informed about organizing the meeting to discuss the proposal. The whole day, the core team of AMUCC was following the Vice Chancellor’s meeting and also tried him to convince for accepting the proposal. At around 5.30 pm, the number of AMU VC’s displayed in the mobile of AMUCC co-ordinator and team including the author and PROs of team talked for about 10 minutes.

The Vice Chancellor had first greeted the AMUCC with his words “Congratulations to you all, we are ready to accept the proposal”. Now, he would coordinate with Kishanganj DM to organize a public function to give the final shape to the land agreement issue for the proposed AMU Centre in Kishanganj. The Vice Chancellor showed little reservations about the map as they are not able to figure out the actual location of the map. However, when the team ensured that the offered land is suitable for AMU Special Centre he had his given nod for visiting Kishanganj to accept the land.

Meanwhile, the Bihar HRD Minister P K Shahi talked with the team at around 6 pm, and he equally was highly delighted over the VC’s stand. In fact, Shree Shahi Ji had mentioned that he would be in Kishanganj on the very day when the deal would be finalized. Now, everything seems falling at right place, hence we can expect for a better future for the proposed AMU Centre in Kishanganj.

Disclaimer: The report is based on telephonic talks with AMU Vice Chancellor and Bihar HRD Minister P K Shahi. Many points can be added later on in the AMU VC’s Press Release which is supposed to going public tomorrow or day after tomorrow. Hence, KishanganjBihar.com apoligizes in advance in any change happens in the final Press Release of VC’s Press Release. Till now, we can say the AMU VC is ready to accept the propsal..
