AMUCC organises "AMU Kishanganj Agreement Day Celebration"

December 30, 2011: The Delhi based Aligarh Muslim University Coordination Committee (AMUCC) Delhi offered a grand reception to AMU Vice Chancellor Prof P K Abdul Azis on the agreement day of proposed AMU Centre in Kishanganj. Named as ‘AMU Kishanganj Agreement Day Celebration’ the ‘feel good’ programme was organized at Community Hall near Churipatti Kishanganj. Along with AMU Registrar Prof V K Abdul Jaleel, the AMU team was comprised of Prof Ikram Hussain, Prof N A K Durrani, Prof Yasmin Beg, Prof Jawed Akhtar and Prof Yahya.

The get together was attended by Kishanganj MP Maualana Asrarul Haque, veteran Janata Dal (United) leader Mohd Taslimuddin, Kochadhaman MLA Akhtarul Imaan, local politicians Mujahid Alam (JD (U), Qamrul Hoda (JD(U), Syed Mahmood Ashraf (JD(U), educationists, activists and residents of Seemanchal.

The open session was actively participated by the politicians and common people who thanked the AMU Vice Chancellor to gifting the state of Bihar with contemporary university campus of Aligarh Muslim University. AMUCC, on behalf of people of Kishanganj, Seemanchal, Bihar and neighbouring West Bengal thanked the chief minister Nitish Kumar and Bihar Government for providing 224.02 acres land to open the AMU Study centre. The elated public was mad to get a glimpse of Prof Azis, and gathered outside the venue in large number to see the celebration on the screen at Churipatti.

The AMUCC team led by Mohammad Aslam includes Mohammad Mudassir Alam (PRO), Mahfooz Alam (PRO), Soban M Ahmad, Manazir Ahsan, Murteza Iqbal, Matin Iqbal, Kaifee Anwer, Abrar Rahi, Nasim Anzar, Wasim and many others. AMUCC presented a replica of bullockcart (memento) to Vice Chancellor, which is the specialty of Chakla Village (site of proposed AMU Centre).

AMU Kishanganj Agreement Day Celebration was a successful event and it provided the common people a wonderful platform to interact with AMU Vice Chancellor. The gathering inside Community Hall in Kishanganj also shared their views about Aligarh Muslim University and their expectations with the upcoming centre. A senior citizen and Retired teacher Mahmood Alam was highly excited on the agreement day celebration and touched the heart of audience with his emotional talk.

Earlier, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bihar Government and AMU Registrar Prof V K Abdul Jaleel at the District Magistrate’s office at around 10.30 pm. Locals were eagerly waiting to get the good news of MoU signing in different places of Kishanganj. After the agreement AMU Vice Chancellor and AMU team visited the Milli Girls School at Tarabari, belonging to Kishanganj MP Maulana Asrarul Haque.

AMU Vice Chancellor and AMU team were state guests and as per protocol they were not allowed to visit the public places. However, people were wishing to meet the AMU Vice Chancellor among them, and protocol was not allowing this. AMUCC team, which has played an important role in bridging the gap between Bihar Government and AMU Vice Chancellor took special permission from District Magistrate Kishanganj to host the Prof Azis and his team. Delhi based AMUCC team and locals thanked PK Shahi (HRD Minister, Government of Bihar), DM Kishanganj, Anjani Kumar Singh (Principal Secretary, Bihar Government) and concerned officials to bring AMU Vice Chancellor among common people.
