Concern! Kishanganj suffers, State & Centre Govts, MP Responsible

2
Feeling pity on writing this line time and again “Kishanganj is a one of the most educationally and economically deprived” district of Bihar and the country as well. I can’t help writing the actual unfortunate status of Kishanganj and its people even 65 years of Independence. Reasons are many and I don’t feel to mention all those here. We all are a part of a democratic setup and we don’t shy off from claiming ourselves as the world’s biggest democratic nation. However, after observing the surroundings and scores of issues, if someone especially our politicians are feeling themselves a part of biggest democracy then it would not be wrong in considering ourselves in ‘Foolish Paradise’.

Now coming back to Kishanganj and its issues, still as a Citizen of this ‘virtual heaven of Peace and Brotherhood’, like lakhs of common people of the district I find myself unfortunate in many ways. It seems common people of Kishanganj are still living in pre-Independence era without basic amenities like electricity, employment, health and sanitation. A million dollar question arises here, “Who is responsible for all this and dismal condition of Kishanganj”? Of course, the government both the state government and Central Government.

Bihar Government should be blamed at a large extent for the dismal condition of Kishanganj and other parts of the state. However, we can’t give a clean chit to Congress led UPA Government, which has one out of its 2 Member of Parliaments in Bihar from Kishanganj constituency, and two MLAs out of its 4 MLAs in Bihar. You can say Kishanganj is the strong hold of Congress in Bihar, and its winning MP Maulana Asrar Haque Qasmi carries the hope of lakhs of deprived people from the district. Similarly, innocent people voted for Congress MLAs Mohammad Jawaid and Touseef Alam from Kishanganj and Bahadurganj Assembly constituencies respectively totally distancing itself from the choice of people of Bihar that voted for NDA coalition.

Obviously people elect their leaders with the hope of development and it is expected at a large extent. If we take into consideration the 2 and half years of UPA’s Governance in context of Kishanganj and the development steps taken by the MP Maulana Asrarul Haque, nothing apart from disappointment is visible. Blaming the State Government has become a best strategy for the Centre and local Congress leaders for the dismal condition of Kishanganj. However, till date despite such thumping victory from Kishanganj district of Bihar (where the party failed badly), the Congress Party didn’t announced any special package for upliftment of the area and its people. Neither there is any record (in media) about the stand of MP Asrarul Haque asking for special package for Kishanganj.

I like many concerned people from Kishanganj doesn’t raise finger over the credibility of Maulana Asrarul Haque. However, we can’t give him clean chit just on his honesty and simple lifestyle. Fact is that, he is an elected leader and ‘Voice of 17 lakh People’, if he doesn’t raise the voice before his party and government, this is really unfortunate and condemnable. Devoting the full time only the issue of AMU is not the work done, Kishanganj needs the attention and active participation of Maulana Qasmi in many other fields. And he can do it with its effort because he is the only ‘Chirag’ (lamp) of Congress Party’s dark fortune in Bihar.

  1. Guys. Don,t be negative. Let's have positive approach. It is good the more than 10k professionals are from Kishanganj who are conscious. If we all pledge to make the kishanganj as good as kerala. It can be doable. If we all unite tigether. No point to blame MP or MLA. Let's all forwrad the foot to feel pride that we are from kishanganj
