Continuing its endeavor to find out a solution of the delaying AMU Centre Kishanganj issue, the Delhi based AMU Centre Co-ordination Committee reached to Dr. Izhar Ahmad, JD (U) MLA & Chairman Estimate Committee Government of Bihar. The Legislative from Darbhanga district was in an official trip to national capital Delhi. AMU Committee got information about his stay at Bihar Niwas, Chankya Puri in New Delhi in the morning of October 29, 2011 and used its resources to get an appointment with the influential leader of Bihar Government. Dr. Ahmad humbly accepted the meeting request and called the team at 11 pm in the night in his room at Bihar Niwas.

A team led by Co-ordinator Mohammad Aslam reached Bihar Niwas well before the given time. The members in the team were Kaifee Anwar, Minnat Rahmani, Mohammad Mudassir Alam, Tauquir Alam and Khalid Mubashshir. Dr. Ahmad was busy in telephonic talk with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on some law and order issue related to Rohtas district of Bihar. After finishing his talk, Dr. Ahmad started the talk on the AMU issue with the team. Mohammad Aslam had briefed the whole issue before the JD (U) Legislature and also described about AMU Co-ordination Committee.

Like most of the leaders of Bihar Government, Dr. Ahmad too had confusions about the real issue and role of Vice Chancellor of AMU. Dr. Ahmad shared his views and solutions of the land issue for the proposed AMU Centre in Kishanganj. However, the AMU Co-ordination Committee put the facts of the Special Centre proposals and reasons of AMU VC’s denial for the offered 3 pieces land. The committee had also shown a map of the proposed land and the solution for making it one piece contiguous land as per the demand of AMU VC. Dr. Ahmad patiently listened to all members and expressed his interest to end the deadlock on the land transfer issue. The committee had also clarified the doubts about the AMU VC’s role and his controversial image created by the ministers of Bihar Government on this issue.

Dr. Ahmad was pleased after knowing the facts about the AMU VC and his willingness for the special centre. The committee had suggested him to fix a meeting of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with AMU Vice Chancellor P.K.Abdul Azis to resolve the matter on immediate basis. Dr. Ahmad liked the suggestion of AMU Co-ordination Committee and assured to take necessary action on this after reaching to Patna. The meeting ended with a positive note and the AMU Co-ordination Committee smelled the solution of the badly trapped issue. If Dr. Ahmad follows his words and fix a meeting of Bihar CM and AMU VC in the recent time, it can be believed that the issue of land transfer will be surely resolved. AMU Co-ordination Committee is committed to the issue of AMU since its existence and its member always keep on striving to for the possible solution by meeting the key functionaries of Bihar Government, the actual stake holder of AMU Special Centre on ground level.
