Politics: Thakurganj MLA Naushad Alam joins JD (U)

6
Finally after about one year, the Janata Dal (United) got a reason to smile from Kishanganj district of Bihar in the form of Thakurganj MLA Naushad Alam. The Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) MLA joined Janata Dal (United) on Monday (September 26, 2011) evening at the regional office of the party in Kishanganj. The key leaders of Janata Dal (United) in Kishanganj are very happy with the entry of Naushad Alam in the party. In fact, they are seeing the inclusion of Naushad Alam as a major political gain for the party from the Kishanganj constituency, where the party did not have any elected representative both in the Bihar Assembly and Parliament.

Naushad Alam had fought the Bihar Assembly elections in 2010 with Ram Vilas Paswan led LJP. However, Naushad won the elections on his own merit by defeating the Janata Dal (United) candidate Gopal Aggarwal. The self made politician, Naushad Alam had also given a tough fight to Gopal Aggarwal in the Assembly elections held in year 2005. What compelled Naushad Alam to join Janata Dal (United) this is not public right now, but the political mileage is undoubtedly is the prime reason. The LJP and RJD parties have almost lost their hold in Bihar, hence Naushad Alam must have joined JD (U) for his survival in active politics.

Interestingly, Naushad Alam was a key member of the agitation called by Kishanganj Educational Movement working for the cause of AMU Special Centre in Kishanganj. Naushad Alam was also supposed to join the mass movement scheduled on October 12, 2011 in response to Bihar Government’s negligent attitude towards the proposed AMU Special Centre in Kishanganj. Will Naushad Alam be part of the movement for the cause of AMU or he will follow the party guidelines this is a big question in itself? But, logically it seems that he will detach himself for the cause of AMU....

  1. Naushad has cheated his own party and voters. While fighting th election he was candidate of LJP and won the election. This is the other example of politicians Chameleon character. But it is not our concern. If he help in establishment of AMU by joining JDU then we salute him. But if it creates another hurdle as he is now part of Bihar Govt.. then we condemn it. Lets see what he do before 12th October.

  2. Kaifee I agree with you and your comment on Naushad. His political ambition has compelled him to change the party and join the ruling party...However, it would be interesting to see his stand now after joining JD (U), which is delaying the issue for past two years....
