Rahbar Coaching Centre Kishanganj! Serving to a noble cause

4
Rahbar Coaching Centre (RCC) was a unique movement of Bihar Anjuman that was started a couple of years back to provide free of cost coaching to financially week students studying in Class VIII, IX and X residing in each district of Bihar and Jharkhand. The prime motto of the coaching centre was to reduce the number school dropouts and help the hardworking brains to prove their talent. Only the students enrolled into government schools and belonging to poor families were allowed to study in Rahbar Coaching Centre. As per policies of Bihar Anjuman, the coaching centres were supposed to fund by someone from the group or other genuine sources.

Likewise, on the guidelines of Bihar Anjuman, the 11th centre of Rahbar Coaching Centre was inaugurated in Kishanganj district on April 1, 2011. Considered among the most economically backward districts of Bihar, Kishanganj has high rate of school drop outs. However, the Rahbar Coaching Centre got its shape in Kishanganj due to efforts of Anzar Alam and local team leader Nayemuddin Qasmi and Sharayar Alam – a key committee member. The Rahbar Coaching Centre in Kishanganj has 90 students, 30 students each enrolled in Class VIII, Class IX and X. As the district of Kishanganj has the least female literacy in India, hence the preference was given to girl students.

The children of rickshaw pullers, labours, and extremely poor people are now getting good coaching at Rahbar Coaching Centre in Kishanganj. Four months have passed since the inauguration of Rahbar Coaching Centre, Kishanganj, many of the enrolled students are proving their talent in monthly tests by securing high marks. Interestingly, you can see the dream of a bright future in the eyes of many students. The credit of the success goes to the teachers, local committee membes and main leader Nayemuddin Qasmi, who put their best efforts to run the coaching centre smoothly in a place like Kishanganj, where the education is not at all a priority for majority of the population.

Rahbar Coaching Centre is a good lesson for the country, where education and money (financial condition) have almost become synonymous to each other. The parents / wards and owners of private schools / colleges / universities feel proud in spending a wholesome amount for education. However, still the majority of Indian population is facing the financial woes that in turn affect the literacy rate and development of country as whole. Despite the tall claims of the Central Government, State governments, and highly renowned non government firms especially NGOs, the literacy rate is not increasing among the financially weak people of the society across the country.

The quality education ratio among poor is worst in the states of Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal and north-eastern states of India. Bihar Anjuman – A group of working people and some self employed (business men) people run under the supervision of Shakeel Ahmad and many other active members is doing commendable job to spread education among all in the state of Bihar. The charitable foundation donates time, education, food and money, and does other activities to support the needy people of the state.

Bihar Anjuman established 3 centres in the year 2009 at Samastipur, Darhbhanga and Panta. The no of Rahbar Coaching Centre has now reached to 14. The centres succeeded in attracting the school dropout students who were facing financial problems. In a very short span of time, the students of the Rahbar Coaching Centre proved their merit by securing good number in matriculation exams.

Although the number of Rahbar Coaching Centres have crossed the a dozen mark, but still the Bihar Anjuman is looking for people who can take the responsibility of establishing the more centres in 26 districts of Bihar and 22 districts of Jharkhand. The people of the districts should come forward and take the responsibility to establish the Rahbar Coaching Centre. The project just need the interest for social cause, the financial help and other assistance are provided by Bihar Anjuman itself.

I appreciate your concern and views about girls education in Kishanganj...We have to think about this seriously...Need to change the mindset of our old generation, and encourage the girls to take higher education.
