Fresh Hope for Kishanganj AMU Centre: Centre asks AMU to select site

After a long wait a good and positive news has come regading the proposed establishment of AMU centre in Kishnganj. In a recent and positive development towards the establishement of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) study centre in Kishanganj, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has asked the University to select a suitable site among those offered by Bihar Government and take a decision and submit a feasibility report soon.
A high-powered team led by the AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis will be visiting Kishanganj very soon to select a suitable site and discuss other relevant issues with the district officers.

The development came on the heel of Bihar Government’s offer that it has identified the available land for the campus in four places in the villages namely: Petbhari, Mohanmari, Dhanpura, Deramari and Kumhian in the Thakurgunj, Kochadhaman and Dighalbank sub-division of Kishanganj district.

It is noted that AMU Centres in Murshidabad in West Bengal and Malappuram in Kerala have already become functional with the transfer of land and establishment of AMU Centres as per the Acts and Statutes of the University and in accordance with the permission of Visitor under Statute 12(2).

 

AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K. Abdul Azis was happy to share that the government of Maharashtra has also decided to establish AMU Centre in the state.

AMU community feels happy that two more new centres of AMU will be established in near future on the same line as Murshidabad and Malappuram centres. It is noted that AMU Centres in Murshidabad in West Bengal and Malappuram in Kerala have already become functional with the transfer of land and establishment of AMU Centres as per the Acts and Statutes of the University and in accordance with the permission of Visitor under Statute 12(2).
