This past week the district of Kishanganj got a new Superintendent of Police (SP) Deepak Barnwal. The new SP joined in place of Manoj Kumar and assumed the office from this week. After his joining as SP of Kishanganj, Mr Barnwal addressed the media persons during a first press conference on Wednesday. Mr. Barnwal insisted upon the need of maintaining law and order for earning the faith of common people. He said people of the district must not feel themselves alienated from the administration and always feel free to approach the police for any type of grievances.

Deepak Barnwal

A 2010 batch IPS (Indian Police Service) officer Deepak Barnwal was SP of Khagaria before being transferred to Kishanganj. The 32-years-old officer has issued strict warning to police officials, police station in-charge and other staff from police department to do their duties with complete responsibility in order to maintain law and order. He said any one deviating from his duties or doing any negligence would not be pardoned.

Situated in the north-eastern part of Bihar, Kishanganj is a very sensitive place due to sharing of international border with Nepal. The infiltration, smuggling, illegal activities, etc. done through the Nepal border is a big concern for the district. On the other hand, common people have almost lost faith from the Police due to unpleasant incidents happened due to negligence. Hopes are high with new SP Deepak Barnwal and people are expecting that their grievances shall be listened and resolved.
